Government Engineering College(GEC), Kaimur is a Government Engineering College established in the year 2019 by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology. The college is spread over an area of 20 Acres at Jaitpur Kalan Bhagwanpur Kaimur. The building is handed over in 05.11.2020 by Executive Engineer Building Division Bhabua. The college is established under “Saat Nischay Yojna” of Bihar Government. The idea behind its establishment is to cater growing needs of increasing technical demands in our society. The institute is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University Patna. All the courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi.
The first session commenced from 08/09/2019 with total intake of 240 and 60 students per branch in four streams of engineering viz. Civil Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Electrical Engineeringand Electronics and Communication Engineering.Its first academic session in 2019 started in the campus ofLok Nayak Jai Prakash Institute of Technology, Chapra (LNJPIT Chapra). After completion of a period of approx. nine months it has been shifted to Shershah Engineering College Sasaram. The institute has been finally shifted to its permanent campusat Kaimur from SEC Sasaram in the 3rd week of August 2021. Government Engineering College, Kaimur has excellent facilities to pursue technical studies and research.The institute is fully wifi campus with 24 hours power supply with generator facility. The institute has all the modern facilities such as Modern Library with reading room for students, Computer Centre, Auditorium, fully equipped Mechanical Workshop, Modern Laboratory and Separate hostels for boys’ and girls’.
